BEACON, NEW YORK: Rezzie rests under a desk in Andy's cell at Fishkill Correctional Facility. Andy, in prison for robbery with a 14 1/2 year sentence, believes being in the program has given his daughters a reason to be proud of him inspite of the fact that he's in prison. The Puppies Behind Bars program works with prison inmates in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to train service dogs, including ones who help injured soldiers or those suffering from post-traumatic stress. The puppies live with the prisoners during a 20-month training process.
