ALGODONES, MEXICO-MARCH 22: American retirees purchase medications at Guadalahara Pharmacy March 22, 2005 in Algodones. Americans visit the town to take advantage of prices that are usually one third to one half of  drug prices in the U.S. Although U.S. bans the importation of medications except in the case of life threatening illnesses U.S. customs and the Food and Drug Administration generally allow Americans to import a 3-month supply of prescription drugs.
