Broken System: Remote Area Medical Tackles Health Care Gap the U.S.

WISE, VIRGINIA-JULY 24: Volunteers with The Remote Area Medical (RAM) Expedition register people for free medical care during a two and half day event at the Virginia-Kentucky Fairgrounds transforming farm buildings into a makeshift field hospital July 24, 2009. People come from as far away as New York for treatment with many sleeping in their cars overnight. Organizers estimate that they provided over $1.6 million USD worth of care.
